Pakistan Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi called on the heads of Royal Naval and Royal Air Forces of Jordan, Radio Pakistan reported.
During the high-profile meeting, the naval chief informed the Jordanian military leadership that Pakistan Navy would host Maritime Exercise ‘Aman-2019’ in February.
According to a spokesperson for the Pakistan Navy, matters of mutual interests, including defence and naval partnerships, were discussed.
The meeting also deliberated upon bilateral cooperation in diverse fields and enhancing technical manpower.
Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi highlighted Pakistan’s role and firm resolve in war against terrorism while underscoring the efforts of Pakistan Navy in curtailing piracy.
The chief of Pakistan Navy also informed the Jordanian Forces` heads of the establishment of Regional Maritime Security Patrol for maritime peace and stability.
Meanwhile, the Jordanian naval and air chiefs appreciated the contributions of Pakistan Navy to maritime security in the region.
Earlier this week, the admiral held meetings with Commander-in-Chief Bahrain Defence Forces Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa, Commander US Naval Forces Central Command Vice Admiral James Malloy and Commander Combined Task Force 150 Commodore Darren Garnier of Royal Canadian Navy in Bahrain.
Shaikh Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa acknowledged strong ties between Pakistan and Bahrain. He appreciated Pakistan Navy efforts and focused commitments in support of collaborative maritime security in the region and extending cooperation in diverse fields to Bahrain Defence Forces.
