The Anti-Corruption Establishment Division has sought record of the development projects from Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi to probe the alleged irregularities and corruption in the development projects.
Sources said that the Anti-Corruption Establishment has directed the Municipal Corporation Infrastructure Department to present the record of the development projects conducted during the last ten years.
The investigation department has directed the public body to submit the record including tender documents, advertisements, details of bidders and their bids, technical and financial evaluation reports, sources added.
An official of the concern department wishing anonymity, as he is not allowed to talk to media, said that serious allegations are also raised in the recent audit report regarding the irregularities in the development projects of the Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi.
When contacted, Municipal Officer Infrastructure at MCR Rafaqat Gondal confirmed that the anti-corruption department has directed to present the record of the development projects and we have sent all the required documents to them, he added.
Answering a question regarding the audit paras he said, it is the duty of the audit department to raise the question/audit paras, we will answer them in Special Departmental Accounts Committee meetings.
