A full court reference is to be held at the Supreme Court of Pakistan on January 17 to pay homage to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar.
CJP-designate Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, vice chairman Pakistan Bar Council, president Supreme Court Bar Association and Attorney General of Pakistan will attend the event.
Justice Khosa will assume charge of the office of the country’s top adjudicator on 18th of this month in a ceremony at the President House in Islamabad. On Jan 2, President of Pakistan Arif Alvi approved the nomination of Justice Khosa as CJP.
Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, who assumed his office on December 31, 2016, is set to retire on January 19.
