LAHORE: Governor Punjab Malik Rafique Rajwana has summoned a session of the provincial assembly on August 15.
The interim provincial Law Minister Zia Haider Rizvi has informed that the session will take place at 10 am on Wednesday and the newly-elected members are expected to take the oath in the session.
On August 16, the speaker and deputy speaker of Punjab assembly will be elected. After that the new Chief Minister (CM) will be elected through secret ballot, Rizvi further added.
Similarly, Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai has summoned a session of the provincial assembly on August 13.
The Balochistan Assembly secretary Shamsuddin stated that the session will take place at 11 am on Monday while the speaker and deputy speaker of the assembly will be elected later in the evening.
A day earlier, acting Sindh governor Agha Siraj Durrani had summoned a session of the Sindh Assembly which is scheduled to take place on August 13 at 10 am.
On Thursday, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Zafar Iqbal Jhagra had announced that a session of the provincial assembly will be held on August 13.
On the other hand, the President Mamnoon Hussain had decided on Friday to summon a session of the National Assembly (NA) on August 13th.
