LARKANA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has criticised the arrest of party worker Haseeb Zahid, son of PPP candidate for the National Assembly from Sialkot Zahid Bashir Chaudhry, at the hands of FIA and demanded his immediate release. In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the PPP chairman said that the arrest of the party leader’s son on the instigation of opponents was political victimization. He warned that some FIA personnel should avoid becoming private force members of Nawaz Sharif or his cabinet members. Bilawal Bhutto demanded that Haseeb Zahid should be released immediately and the campaign against the PPP workers in Sialkot and the rest of Punjab should be stopped. The PPP chairman pledged that those targeting party leader Zahid Bashir Chaudhry would fail, adding that no other party “knows how to protect its own workers better than the PPP”.
