LAHORE: Dr Haider Ashraf, DIG (Operations) Sunday said that strict action would be taken against those found involved in kite flying or selling associated material.
He has ordered all the divisional superintendents of police to ensure the ban on kite flying in the city.
The DIG has also requested parents to stop their children from getting involved in such activities.
The crackdown on kite flyers has been going on in the city for quite some time.
A few weeks ago, at least 36 kite fliers were arrested in a day during a crackdown by police and several cases were registered.
Some people continue to make and fly kites, despite a ban on kite flying in Lahore and frequent crackdowns by police.
Police had said the crackdown was carried out in various areas of the city, including Nawakot, Sherakot and Samanabad. Police had also seized huge amounts of kites, rolls and strings.
