LAHORE – PIA is rapidly regaining its lost market share and the new management is working extremely hard to improve the level of comfort for passengers and overall service standard.
In a statement, the spokesman for the state owned airline said that the airline has increased 22 percent market share on domestic routes and 3 percent on international routes during the current year.
Adding further, he said that in 2016 one million additional passengers opted for PIA over other airlines as compared to the previous year, which depicts the increase in the level of trust and preference for the airline. “
The brand new Airbus 330 acquired in August this year has played an important role in PIA’s regaining passenger confidence and in improving its brand image, he said.
The spokesman concluded that acquiring new aircrafts on wet lease is a compulsion for the airline due to the lack of trained crew. As time will progress, our own crew will be fully trained on the new aircraft.
