DI KHAN: The district police seized a large cache of arms, munitions and narcotics and arrested three accused in various raids conducted on Wednesday.
According to police, on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Yasir Afridi, the Bund Korai police recovered three kilograms of narcotics from possession of the accused – Inamullah Baloch – and one repeater gun with 23 cartridges from Yasin Marwat.
The police also recovered one pistol and several bullets each from Amir Nawaz and Arif during a search operation in which Israr Arif – alias Lal Khan Baloch – Haq Nawaz and Ahmed Nawaz were also arrested for allegedly providing shelter to the proclaimed offenders.
Meanwhile, thieves barged into a house of Shah Jehan at Ratta Kulachi and made off with gold ornaments – on which the police registered a case and have started further investigations.
In another move, the district jail administration foiled a smuggling bid of opium to jail premises and arrested the accused. According to police, strict security measures were afoot when opium was found from possession of the accused on his search at the jail’s entry. Police handed over the accused to Cantt police station for further action.
