LAHORE: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will celebrate its foundation day on Wednesday (today) at Bilawal House in Bahria Town.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address as many as 12,000 die-hard workers and leaders from across Pakistan. The party has also made preparations for a grand lunch for its workers.
On the other hand, PPP splinter group head Naheed Khan held a seminar at the Lahore Press Club in this regard. Naheed was slain PPP chairwoman Benazir Bhutto’s press secretary.
Around 200 workers participated in the seminar. Those prominent at the seminar were Safdar Abbasi, Qayyum Nizami, Asif Butt, Sajida Mir, Sardar Hur Bukhari, Baba Jabbar Baghi and Abid Chaudhry.
The charged workers were carrying party flags and shouting slogans of “Jiye Bhutto” and “Jiye Benazir”.
Naheed Khan said PPP founding father Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had sacrificed his life for the poor and downtrodden people.
On the issue of Panama Leaks, she said that elite class had stashed wealth abroad but the life of people belonging to lower and middle class has become tough. She said that poor are becoming poorer and rich are becoming richer.
She thanked former chief of army staff General Raheel Sharif and said he did a very good job and saved the army as an institution by getting retirement with grace of dignity. She, however, criticised the establishment for opposing the Bhuttoism and urged the nation to stand up against political and social injustice and corruption.
