ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office (FO) Spokesman Nafees Zakaria revealed on Wednesday that India has deployed at least 1 million soldiers in the Indian-held Kashmir (IHK).
Zakaria told Radio Pakistan that despite international concerns, India had deployed the highest concentration of troops in the world in IHK and dubbed it ‘a hurdle in implementation of the United Nations (UN) resolution’.
The spokesperson said that the Indian army has been killing the innocent Kashmiris and violating the basic human rights in held Kashmir for at least ‘the last four months’.
Zakaria urged India to stop the bloodshed immediately and said that Pakistan believes in peaceful resolution of every outstanding issue with India.
He demanded the UN to play its due role for peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue – as its implementation is UN’s responsibility.
