LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz member Inamullah Niazi also got mugged at a traffic signal in Lahore on Thursday.
The MPA’s vehicle was waiting at a signal when unknown suspects on gunpoint snatched his mobile phone and Rs 15,000 in cash. Niazi narrated his ordeal, saying that traffic was at a standstill due to a VIP movement, adding that snatchers after the act ran towards the other side of the road.
It is pertinent to mention that a significant surge in ‘violent crimes’ on the streets of the provincial capital have been witnessed and in the past one-and-a-half months over 44 people have been killed.
Also, 423 cases of street crimes have been reported with the police. Over 650 motorcycles have been either snatched or stolen from the first of October till the 22nd of November.
