SARGODHA: Commissioner Nadeem Mehboob has directed the district coordination officer (DCO) and all departments concerned to take strict action against dealers involved in adulteration and sale of fake pesticides and fertilisers.
Chairing a meeting of the Agricultural Committee, he directed the departments concerned to ensure Kisan Package relief to farmers and launch a comprehensive campaign for their guidance regarding facilities provided by the government.
The meeting was told that 437 samples were collected from 1217 fertilizer dealers and FIRs were lodged against 10 dealers whose samples were not found up-to-the-mark. To check fake fertilizer dealers in the district, a total of 795 dealers were monitored and 387 samples were collected while nine cases were registered against the dealers for selling fake products and 14 FIRs were registered for overcharging.
The meeting was briefed that under the Kissan Package, a total of 61,443 farmers would be provided interest-free loans, out of which 18,260 farmers had been issued e-books.
