Police, on Sunday, registered a case against two suspected robbers for the murder of a medical student, killed in their exchange of fire with a police party on Friday night, here in North Karachi. The first investigation report (FIR) was filed against the suspects under sections of police encounter, murder and attempted murder on the complaint of policeman Adnan who works at Noor Jehan police station. Officials of the Sir Syed Police Station said that the case for the murder of 20-year-old, Nimrah Baig, was registered against the late suspect Riaz and his injured accomplice, from Rahim Yar Khan. They said that an investigation team was formed to probe the murder from all aspects. According to information gathered from an eye-witness, Shahid Niaz Alam, two suspects were robbing the girl at Anda Morr and shot fire at her when she started calling for help. A police party immediately reached the scene and opened fire; killing a suspect and leaving another injured. The two suspects were taken into custody and brought to Noor Jehan police station. People from nearby took the injured student to a nearby hospital for treatment where she succumbed to her injuries.
