Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday lamented that his party made several efforts but it could not unite the opposition behind a consensus candidate for the presidential election.
He was speaking to the media at the National Assembly where he cast his vote for the presidential election on Tuesday.
Shehbaz, the former chief minister of Punjab, vowed to continue efforts to keep the opposition united in future.
Divisions had emerged in the joint opposition’s ranks over the PPP’s decision to nominate Aitezaz Ahsan, who was not acceptable to PML-N.
