On Monday, Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef issued directives to expel Nehal Hashmi from the ruling party over the former’s fulmination against the judiciary.
Hashmi’s party membership was abrogated in line with the recommendations by a five-member panel formed by Mian Muhammad Nawaz Shareef as President of the ruling party. In his own capacity Shareef had formed a national ethics and discipline committee of PML-N to launch an inquiry against the senator for withdrawing his resignation from membership of the upper house of parliament while appearing before Mian Raza Rabbani, Chairman of Senate.
Earlier on May 31st Nehal Hashmi tendered his Senate resignation after a video of him surfaced, ‘threatening’ members of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed by the Supreme Court of Pakistan for further investigation into the Panama case.
